URBAN+ Multi-disciplinary, international design- and innovation competition.
The integrated design approach has been carried out in three steps. First, focused on reducing the need for energy and resources. Second, focused on maximizing possibilities of producing energy by the building using assets of its localization and architectural elements. In the third step both the previous steps were confronted allowing finding self-sufficient building that size and form are chosen in order to balance energy demand with simulated energy production. The form-finding process and assumed energy demand and production resulted in self-sufficient building producing over 2kWh/m2/year.
